Attic Restoration Florence

Attics are usually used to store things and they don't get a lot of traffic. It's not unusual for them to accumulate a lot of dust and dirt over time. Animals can find their new homes in attics. AAAC Wildlife Removal can help you remove any evidence of a wildlife infestation in your attic insulation. Our team will take out all animal waste from your attic and install new insulation to restore it to its original condition

We'll have you attic looking like new in no time!

How We Restore Your Attic

Even though they cannot chew through insulation, pests can still tear it apart. The insulation material becomes much more than just bedding. After all, the animals that tear down your attic’s barriers can also make a home there and leave behind their contaminants like urine or feces. These areas are also less efficient at insulating air, allowing for air to escape or enter. This can lead to costly repairs. Here are the steps we take to when performing attic restoration:

Scoop out Larger Feces Clumps

A project to restore an attic is started by removing large feces, which are usually left behind by pests. We use a long-handled tool for removing the feces off the ceilings and walls. If the droppings are dry or stuck on hard surfaces we will soak them in water, and then use a wire brush for scraping them off.

AAAC technicians use a tool with an extendable handle that allows them to climb up onto your roof to reach high places where squirrels and raccoons often leave their feces. The technicians may need to loosen large quantities of droppings from rafters and eaves so that they can safely remove them by hand or vacuum.

Vacuum Small Feces

A thorough vacuuming of small rodent waste pellets from attics is the next step in any attic renovation project. This is the only method that will remove tiny pellets of rodent waste from attics. AAAC uses a special machine, which has a long enough hose length to reach the most remote parts of your attic. The machine is equipped with an extra-long vacuum tube, high-velocity suction, and HEPA filter to remove animal hair and droppings from the insulation and other surfaces in your attic space. To clean small droppings, AAAC Wildlife will also use a special brush attachment that is designed to reach tight spaces such as corners and accessible areas near the roofline.

AAAC uses ultraviolet light to find small feces in attics. The UV light will create black dots on surfaces where feces have been left by animals, such as rats, bats, and raccoons.

Air Duct Cleaning & Repair

AAAC Wildlife Control provides air duct repair and restoration services. We can remove pet hair, droppings, or urine from your ductwork. AAAC uses a special tool for cleaning the inside of the ducts. Once this is done, we can spray a disinfectant on the ducts to eliminate any remaining bacteria or viruses that may have been left behind by bats, rats, raccoons, or squirrels.

Decontaminate the Attic

After the removal of the animals, the most important part is the cleanup of the attic. This is a crucial part of the job. It helps to keep your family safe from potential microbial pathogens.

AAAC Wildlife Removal uses UV light to determine if an area is contaminated by rodent droppings. After cleaning the affected areas and surfaces, technicians will use a disinfectant spray. This kills any microorganisms found in animal feces.

AAAC Wildlife Removal will fog the attic with a fine mist to kill microorganisms that may be present in animal feces. An electric atomizer sprayer is used to create a cloud of tiny droplets that are invisible to humans. Droplets that are evaporating leave behind chemical residues that are toxic to microorganisms.

The attic restoration process also requires that the attic be dried. This is because moisture can encourage mold growth if it isn’t removed. AAAC might use a dehumidifier in order to dry out the insulation and wood attic. This also helps prevent mold growth during re-insulation of the attic space.

Full Attic Insulation Replacement

This part of the restoration work is completed by removing old insulation and then installing a brand new one. You must remove the insulation carefully in order to avoid damaging adjacent areas or making a mess. Insulation is wrapped around joists or rafters, so you must be careful not to pull it too hard.

Insulation also often contains mold spores and other potentially dangerous materials, which can be released into the air when the insulation is removed. Our technicians wear masks to prevent them from inhaling any particles that may get into the air ducts.

The technicians will then install new insulation after the old insulation has been removed. The insulation must fit snugly around rafters or joists. There is a risk of leaving some insulation behind if you don’t cut it close enough. Technicians also use masking tape and a sealer during installation to hold everything in place.

What is full attic restoration?

Attic restoration services restore the appearance and function of an attic. Attic restoration consists of insulation, decontamination, and waste removal.

When attics get dirty and dusty due to animal droppings, accumulated dirt, or ice accumulation, their ability to insulate is often reduced. This is a way for more energy to escape your home than if you had insulation intact. The decontamination process begins with using fans throughout interior areas that have been affected by moisture such as closets or bathrooms where there has been leakage from the water carrying away dirt and dust.

How do you disinfect an attic?

Take out soiled insulation then disinfect the attic’s surface with an ultraviolet sterilizer or disinfectant. Finally, clean the surfaces to kill bacteria. To prevent reinfection, you must clean all surfaces that come in direct contact with the contaminated material.

The process begins with removing insulation to ensure efficient and safe disinfecting. A powerful suction system is used to remove harmful substances from surfaces like wood joists and rafters. A biocides washdown is performed after which any mold remains are removed. It also leaves behind an antimicrobial compound to prevent the growth of mold and mildew in the future. Finally, the area will be sterilized by light sterilization using UV lights similar to those used for hospitals.
